Eden U.I. Stright

Eden is a registered Patent Agent with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and has gained extensive experience over more than 20 years with leading US firms and various multi‐national corporations.  Eden is based in the DC area.

As a result of Eden’s substantial experience assisting as internal counsel for a number of large multi‐national corporations, she has extensive knowledge of patent attorney firms ranging from large multi‐disciplinary practices to specialist boutique practices.  Eden appreciates the difficulties and complexities associated with filing and progressing patent applications for a multi‐jurisdictional patent portfolio and can provide valuable insight for clients who are considering protecting their intellectual property rights.  

Eden has particular experience in the following areas.

• Educating inventors with respect to the processes and procedures of the USPTO

• All aspects associated with the consideration of US based counsel including selection of the most appropriate US attorneys considering subject matter and strategic objectives associated with individual patent filings and/or entire patent portfolios

• Preparation and filing of patent prosecution and trademark related documents

• Conducting prior art and infringement related searches in support of patent and trade mark prosecution

• Managing all aspects of patent formalities including establishing procedures, training and supervising patent paralegals regarding internal and USPTO practices and procedures

• Generating IP analytics reports for internal and client review

• Integration of global intellectual asset management databases with patent portfolio and eBilling databases

Eden enjoys providing an external and global perspective for clients and in particular, assisting relationships between clients and internal or external counsel responsible for preparation, filing, prosecution and enforcement of patent rights in the United States.
